Grinch that Stole the Monsoon

Greenhouses gases (GHGs) cause global warming and are also a major cause of disturbing the Indian monsoon. But there is another factor which affects the monsoons, called aerosols. Aerosols are minute particles suspended in the atmosphere. A new research shows that aerosols released from vehicular exhaust, half-burnt crop residue, dust and chemical effluents may be weakening the rainy season even more than GHGs.
