To continue with its goal to become one of the most environmentally friendly and progressive countries of the planet, Norway will ban the sale of all diesel and petrol cars by 2025. About a quarter of the country's cars already run on electricity, and more than 99 per cent of its electricity is generated through hydropower. Norway is also endeavouring to triple its current capacity of wind power by 2020.
