Nature in Frames: An environmental superhero comic strip contest

In the hustle and bustle of the GSP Carnival 2026, one corner radiated a quiet creative energy as students huddled with focus over their sheets of paper, weaving magic with ink and colour. The Nature in Frames comic strip contest presented students from across grades 6 to 10 with the task of creating their own environmental superhero comics. Participants had just one hour to make their comic frames and bring to life the GSP superhero characters. Students rose to the challenge, impressing the jury with comics strips that displayed originality, thoughtful storytelling, and creative expression.

The first prize was awarded to Ikshit Kumar of Grade 9, Little Flowers Public Sr. Sec. School, Shahdara, Delhi. Inspired by manga art style, his comic presents the water superhero, Aqua Ranger, tackling the problem of river pollution. In shades of black and white, Kumar’s comic came to life with expressive lines, shading and dialogue.

Dia Taorem of Grade 8, Delhi Public School, R.N. Extension, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, won the second prize. Using confident strokes and bold colours, her comic pits the air superhero, Respiro, in a battle against the creatively named monster, Smogzar. Taorem reminds us of our collective responsibility towards the environment with her apt concluding dialogue: “I’ve done my bit. Your Turn.”

The third prize was bagged by Advik Gupta of Grade 6, The Manthan School, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Our youngest winner cleverly shows the consequences of littering through a growing trash monster. Luckily for the characters in his comic, Recyclon saves the day by teaching everyone the principles of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

Even apart from these outstanding comics, there were several excellent entries in the contest. Marvel and DC, make way! Here comes our next generation of talented and environmentally conscious comic artists.
